In 1678, La Salle was going down Mississippi river. The purpose of this journey was to find water to the pacific.
La salle was peacefully spreading Christianity to the natives.
La salle traded fur with the natives. He acted like fur was treasure and traded for other treasures such as gold and food.
After La salle traded with the natives, he continued floating down the Mississippi to find the end that lead to the pacific.
Him and his men are worried that they would not find a route to the pacific ocean.
His men got tired of the expedition so they decided to kill La salle.
