  • The Tell-Tale Heart

  •  The Narrator uses repetition in the introduction. He is confused and delusional  because he says he heard things from heaven and hell in the introduction. 
  • True!--nervous--very, very Dreadfully nervous I had been and am; But Why will you say that I am Mad?
  • And this I did for seven nights--every night just at midnight--but I found the eye always closed... 
  • The Narrator went to the old men's house for seven night but couldn't kill him because the old men's eye was closed.
  • The Narrator kills the old men by dragging him to the floor and putting the hard bed over him. 
  • I dragged him to the floor, and pulled the heavy bed over him.
  • A shriek had been heard by a neighbor during the night; suspicion of foul play had been aroused;.....  
  • The police comes and says the neighbors were complaining about suspicious sound during the night. 
  • The narrator admits that he had killed the old man and buried him under the floors.
  • "I admit the deed!----tear up the planks! here,here!---it is the beating of his hideous heart!"
