After the bear came in, Mama was mentally scarred and thought it was a sign of the devil and the end of the world. After this event she decided to relocate to Poultney with Rachel and Agnes, which changes the entire plot of the story. Though the bear might not have caused much damage itself, in a way it changed the plot of the story.
The mistress is angry towards Lyddie for taking a vacation while she was gone. In her anger, she fires Lyddie. This conflict leaves Lyddie no choice but to become a factory girl in Lowell.
Diana is in a conflict with the society. This is because she belived that the factory girls deserve better rights and she is protesting against their current working conditions. This is why this conflict would be character vs society.
