"I loved the old man. He had never wronged me." But he had a pale blue vultures eye. Whenever I saw the eye a chill ran down the back of my spine, then one day I decided I would rid myyslef of the eye forever. For seven long nights I had cautiosly entered his room in the middle of the night, but I could not follow through with the act because his eye was always closed.
On my eigth attempt I had been feeling very confident and had really experienced how inteligent I was. I had slowly started to inch into the old mans room, I slightly chuckled at the idea of me creeping into his room without him even noticing. At that moment I had heard a slight movment in the bed. The room was pitch black so I decided to continue to move on. When I had finally managed to get my head in the room, my hand slipped on a tin lantern, alerting the old man. For an hour we both were completly silent, not moving a muscle.
Though I didn't hear the old man lay I had decided to continue to open the door, then I saw it, the eye. " The old man's hour had come! With a loud yell, I threw open the lantern and leaped into the room." I then wrestled him to the ground and forced the heavy bed onto him. After the dead was done I cut the the body into pieces and hid it in the floor board.
At 4 am I had heard a ring of the doorbell, at the door stood 2 police officers. "I smiled, -- for what had I to fear? I bade the gentlemen welcome." I let them in and proceded to make small talk with the officers. I had convinced the officers nothing had happened and yet I heard a small thumping sound, the sound continued to grow and the officers hadn't noticed, then I realised it was the old mans heart beat. I was then sure the officers were mocking me, and I couldn't take it anymore I admitted to the dead and told the entire story of the murder.
