  • im taking him because hes my son!

  • it said something about a stroke and now he needs some help with work.
  • you need to help out your grandfather and Ruthanne

  • our main character Hiram walks down the roads of Mississippi to get his friend R.C and go fishing
  • Are you Ruthanne? Im' Hiram. 
  • Yes I am Ruthanne. I'll drive you right to your grandfathers house.
  • Hiram watches his father and grandfather argue about Hiram leaving Mississippi to Arizona
  • After many letters from his grandfather Hiram gets on that is unlike the others and talks about how he is in terrible condition and needs help. His father was not happy about  this.
  • after getting a ticket for the Santa Fe line and boarding the train all the way to Mississippi Hiram finds Ruthanne the women who is currently looking after Hiram's grandfather and takes Hiram straight to him.
