  • Maximilien Robespierre wanted to get rid of everyone that disagreed with the revolution. He decided who as the enemy of the country, and most of the people he accused we beheaded by guillotine. This time period was called the Reign of Terror. 
  • Emperor Napoleon
  • The other leaders of the revolution turn against Robespierre. He is beheaded at the guillotine.
  • Napoleon is Sent to an Island
  • A man named Napoleon Bonaparte was made head of the government. He the began a series of wars in many other countries. He won most of the wars and brought new lands to the French.
  • Napoleon's Impacts on France
  • Napoleon made himself the emperor of France. For the last time, his armies were defeated at Waterloo.
  • Napoleon was sent to St. Helena, an island in the South Pacific. He died there in 1815.
  • Napoleon had a lasting affect on the French Revolution. He said that people's skills mattered, not their family background. This allowed the poor people to have the opportunity to have good jobs. He made the Napoleonic Code, which ended the nobles' special treatment. Napoleon believed in new ideas and finding the best way of doing things.
