Storyboard Text

  • Hey Jamie! Today we are learning about gravity, magnets, and electromagnetism.
  • Sounds like fun!
  • First, gravity describes an attractive force between two objects. The law that describes gravity, or the universal law of gravitation, says that every object attracts every other object with a force.
  • Makes sense.
  • Next, magnets. Magnetism describes the ability to attract an object. Magnets, a material that attracts iron, have a magnetic field which exists around a magnet in which magnetic forces can act. In these fields, there are atoms that create domains, or magnetic domains, that lines up with the opposite pole to create a strong magnetic field.
  • That is interesting!
