  • Gatsby vs. Society
  • Oh Gatsby, it would be lovely if you came over today!
  • As if we would ever let a West Egger in our home! No Title!
  • Sure! Yay!

  • Why would they invite Gatsby Over? - wait, they aren't
  • HaHa! As if!

  • The conflict of person vs person is shown through Myrtle and Tom when they had traveled to their apartment downtown and got into a fight. Tom punched Myrtle because she repeatedly said Daisy's name. This shows how deep down Tom loves Daisy and is just having a fling with Myrtle. This is person vs. person because Tom physically punched her and it is between the two of them.
  • The conflict of person vs. person is shown though Gatsby vs. Tom when they are fighting over who will be her man. Both men claim that she loves themselves and only themselves. When in reality Daisy says she loved both of them. Although, she is mostly in love with money. This is an example of person vs. person because Tom and Gatsby are both yelling at each other and the fight is between the two of them.
  • The Conflict of Person vs Society is shown through Gatsby vs society when the people of East Egg come and see Gatsby. This is also an example of Failure of the American dream because although Gatsby has worked very hard in life, he is still not respected because he has no title. He is missing that one piece, well two pieces because he is missing Daisy too. Society views Gatsby poorly and nothing he can do can change it.
