These are the Patricians. They are the wealthy and help run the government. These Patricians got important jobs like priests, judges, and members of the Senate. They got to live in fancy rooms like this.
Slaves were the lowest of the low in Roman culture. They did all the work for the wealthy Patricians. They had no rights or freedoms.
Women ran the household. Even very wealthy women had no say in the government. They raised the children and got the food. That's all they were expected to do.
The consuls were two Roman leaders who decided on things together so no one person had all the power. They shared the power for the army.
The Senate's job was to propose and make laws for the good of the people. They also also advised the Consuls. The Senate's decision was normally the decision that would be told to everyone.
