  • The papers called yellow journalist made up stories
  • Extra extra read all abour it
  • America had some interest in Cuba but did not want to interfere.
  • Now America got involved in the disputes in Cuba.
  • yellow journalism was a on thing that helped enforce the idea of war. The fake stories made were one problem they caused.
  • While the Main was in the Harbor one day it blew up.
  • The Cubans were trying to rebel against Spain and when America would not help them they burned down America's suger cane
  • America had some demands.
  • meeting our demands
  • The turning point in the war was when the USS main was sent down to Cuba to make sure no American belongings got broken
  • The treaty of Paris was signed 1898 between the US and Spain.
  • An explosion sank the main on February 5th. The Spanish were blamed for the deaths of 250 US soldiers.
  • compensation for the main, a truce, no more camps, and Cuban independence. Spain did every thing but the last one.
  • Spain gave up the Philippines, Puerto Rico, Guam, and gave Cuba Independence.
