  • John was a bad ruler. During his ruling he faced 3 enemies and all 3 defeated him.
  • Philip Aguustus
  • Hugh Capet was chosen to fill in the vacant throne because seemed too weak to pose a threat.
  • Louis IX
  • Persecute the Jews and the Heretics
  • Edward I demanded Parliament to approve money for his wars in France. Parliament developed in the House of lord and House of Commons.
  • Philip IV
  • You cannot taxes from people.

  • Philip Augustus was a French king. He strengthen the royal government and granted charters in many new town, organized a new army and introduced a new national tax.
  • Louis IX took over the throne in 1226. He was a religious man. He persecuted heretics and Jews with led to two war with the muslims. During his ruling he accomplish many things. For example he expanded the royal court, outlawed private war and ended serfdom in his lands.
  • Philip IV collected taxes from people to extend royal power. Pope Boniface got into a disagreeent and forbade Philip to tax the clergy without papal constant.
