Storyboard Text

  • We, the Federalists chose John Adams as our presidential candidate.
  • We, Republicans choose Thomas Jefferson.
  • Both parties turned to the people to support them. They made posters, handbills, and had mass rallies.
  • We, Federalists, think Jefferson's intent is to undermined religion and morality.
  • We Republicans, condemn Adams as "the champion of rank, titles, and hereditary distinctions".
  • Each presidential elector can vote twice so I, Alexander Hamilton, am going to get some southern electors to drop Adam's name for their ballots.
  • New Englanders soon learned of this plan and they dropped Pinckney from their ballots, making it pretty sure that Adams would win the elections.
  • WOOOOHHHOOOOO!
  • John Adams wins the election and Jefferson, as a result become vice president.
