  •  1: Catherine of Aragon  1509-1533
  • 2: Anne Boleyn  1533-1536
  • 3: Jane Seymour  1536-37
  • Catherine of Aragon was a Spanish princess, once married to Henrys older brother. she was clever and popular and brought friendship with Spain. All her male babies died but she had a daughter called Mary who survived. When Catherine reached 40 years old , Henry thought she was old and boring so he divorced her.
  • 4: Anne of Cleves 1540
  • Anne Boleyn was young sexy and fashionable. She made Henry wait for sex until he married her. They then had a daughter called Elizabeth but Henry wasn't happy because he wanted a boy. Anne then miscarried a boy in 1536. Henry then accused her of having sex with 4 men and her BROTHER. Despite having no proof of this, she was beheaded in 1536
  • 5: Catherine Howard 1540-1542 
  • Jane was calm gentle and caring and tried hard to be friends with Henrys daughters . She made Henry wait for sex until he married her . She then had a son called Edward and Henry was delighted that he had a boy at last but Jane died of an infection a few days after giving birth .
  • 6:  Catherine Parr
  • Cleves was an area of what is now Germany, close to Flanders and France. Henry married her because it brought friendship between England , Wales and this powerful European union. She was a very serious and unfashionable girl. Friends tried to teach her some of henrys favourite card games but she didn't understand them. Henry had seen a painting of her and liked what he saw. However, when he saw her for real, he described her as a 'fat mare from Flanders' and divorced her .
  • Catherine was young lively and very pretty. She flirted with lots of men .... and Henry found out. She once finished off a letter to her lover with the words 'yours as long as life endures'. henry was furious. henry also found out that she had several serious boy friends before she met the king. A queen should not have a past like this ! She was then executed
  • Catherine Parr was very sensible, kind and intelligent. She was very young when she married Henry, he was sick when he married her so that she could look after him. once henry died she remarried almost straight away.
