Once upon a time, there was a man named Prospero. He was the wealthy and powerful Duke of Milan. He had a daughter named Miranda.
His evil brother Antonio stole his dukedom and banished him and his daughter Miranda to a deserted island. Prospero's close friend Gonzalo provided them with food and supplied Prospero with magic books as he then became a powerful sorcerer. Ariel and Caliban, the two inhabitants of the island became the servants of Prospero.
One day, a ship carrying the King of Naples Alonso, his son Ferdinand, Gonzalo, the two evil men Antonio and Sebastian, Trinculo and Stephano was sailing near the island. Prospero creates the tempest, causing the ship to wreck and its passenger to be separated around the island. Alonso and Ferdinand gets separated.
Alonso, Gonzalo, Antonio and Sebastian stop to rest. Prospero using his magic set up a banquet in front of them. Just as they are about to eat, Ariel appears in the shape of a harpy and accuses them for their treachery. Alonso is filled with guilt and regret.
Prospero summons Alonso and the others in front of him and forgives them. Alonso promises to gives Prospero his dukedom back. Prospero shows Miranda and Ferdinand playing chess together. Alonso realized that his son was alive and loves Miranda. He gives his blessings to them.
Everybody is ready to head back to Italy, where Miranda and Ferdiand will get married. Prospero gives up his magic by breaking his staff and throwing his books into the water. He releases Ariel and Caliban, but gives Ariel one last task that is to make sure the seas are calm for the return voyage.
