- So it's time to think about writing your thesis. If you reflect back on my module on the novel, there are several exciting ways forward...
- Motivation: what can teachers do to support learners who do not feel motivated or who do not enjoy reading novels in English? What are some ways of working around or through this barrer?

- Analysis: what does it mean to read "with" or "against" a text, and how can knowing about critical literary theory enhance learners' readiness to contribute to classroom discussions and coursework?

- Policy: why are teachers hesitant to use a classroom novel? Is there room in the curriculum for this anymore? What are some strategies for creating an interpretative community for reading fiction that do not require a classroom novel?

- Multimodality: What are some ways of using multimodality and interactivity to support the experience of reading fiction, and what are the advantages and disadvantages of these?
- WOVEN strategies, literature and film, games
