  • The Tibet-Qinghai also known as the Tibetan Platuea spans across almost a quarter of China. It consists of the tallest mountain in the world, Mt. Everest. Since the mountain ranges are so high the climate is very cold with thin and dry air. The Yellow River and the Chang Jiang River both flow through this but other then this the range is rather dry.

  • The Taklamakan Desert is known as one of the most dangerous deserts in the world. It is even nicked named as "once you go in, you will not come out because of the strong winds. Some legends say that two armies and three hundred cities are buried six hundred feet beneath the sand dunes.

  • Most of the Gobi desert is covered in small stones with very few sand dunes. The vegetation is sparse with very few plants spread across the desert.  The Gobi desert is almost 500,000 square miles spreading over part of China and present-day Mongolia.

  • The Northeastern plain is located in present day Mongolia.  The natural vegetation here is mostly prairie grass.  In ancient times this was used for feeding animals like sheep, horse, and other animals. The Northeastern plain has hot short summers and cold and dry winters. The plain is ussualy to dry to grow crops
  • The North China Plain River also known as the "Land Of The Yellow Earth" Is known for its fertile land and yellow silt.  The land is covered in yellow limestone silt. This comes from the Gobi Dessert.  All of the mud in the water makes it resemble soup. The mud makes the surrounding land and grass very fertile.

  • The Chang Jiang Basins contains hundreds of rivers. These were used to transport goods from place to place. This is even longer then the Huang He. The weather is warm and wet.  In ancient times the vegetation may have been thick rain forests.
