This is because of Victor!
Frankenstein creates his monster, after he realizes how terrifying he is Frankenstein leaves hoping to never see him again. The Monster then leaves the house and begins his journey alone into the world.
You will create me a woman. For this you owe me!
The monster has been abused and chased out of towns, he ends up alone in a cave by a cottage with a family living in it. While out doing chores he sees his reflection in water and it makes him sad and now realizes why no one wants him or accepts him. Through living in the cave he will learn language from the cottagers and also stumble upon books that he will read and study.
You imbecile! I will ruin your life as you have ruined mine!
After getting rejected by all humanity he sets out to find Victor his creator. On his journey he finds William who is related to Victor and out of anger he strangles him to death. This is the first of many for the monster.
I have killed Henry, Elizabeth, all those he loves dearly. And now I sit upon your boat seeing Victors deceased body . I am the monster you know and will tell you my story.
The monster finds Victor in the mountains and asks hm to visit with him in a cave, after the monster informs Victor on his whole life he asks him to build him a women equally ugly and tells him they will live alone in South America. Victor agrees.
After starting the creation of the woman Victor chooses to tear the body limb to limb and throw her into the sea. The monster sees this and becomes furious as Victor has betrayed him once again. He vows to himself that day to ruin Victors life with killing all those Victor loves.
The monster has lead Victor in a long journey chase. Victor dies and the monster soon boards Walton's ship and weeps over his creators death. This is where the monster begins to tell his story to Walton. After the monster leaves he goes to build himself a pyre and chooses to die.
