  •  African countries produce diamonds and many of their diamonds are tainted with violence, and violations of their human rights. Children are being used to mine diamonds, which causes harm. 
  • Conflict diamonds are mined in areas where there is ar or armed conflict. For example, children are being forced to work in these mines all day, without any breaks. This violence and child labor is where diamonds come from. Diamonds are important in the U.S. and people selling them will make millions, while people in Africa barely get anything
  • Millions of Iners in Africa looking for diamonds work in exhausting and and their working conditions are dangerous and cause harm to many of them. The child laborers are usually under 16 and are forced to help their families and can't go to school to receive an education. They live in poverty and earn less than a dollar a day for mining hundreds of diamonds.
