Storyboard Text

  • She can't see! She can't hear! When I scream she didn't flinch!
  • Ahh! What shall we do!
  • Look at her. No one can help that monkey.
  • I think you should write a letter to the Perkins Institute, Captain.
  • Fine, Katie but don't get your hopes to high.
  • I know a doctor, or someone to help Helen. Someone in Baltimore.
  • Nice to meet you Mr. and Mrs. Keller. Did you bring Helen?
  • Hi, Miss Annie Sullivan. It is very nice to meet you. Helen is at home waiting for us.
  • Kate finds out that Helen is blind and deaf. She screams for Captain Keller and he comes running. He is shocked when he finds out the news.
  • I need to be left alone with Helen! She needs to learn not to eat from other people's plates! She must learn disipline!
  • Helen is now six years old and blind and deaf. The Kellers have tried many doctors to try to help her, but none have worked. Helen is very stubborn, but very smart and bright. James thinks she is hopeless. Aunt Ev is recommending a doctor in Baltimore, and Kate wants to write a doctor at the Perkins Institute . Captain is reluctant to write the letter , but says yes.
  • She still needs to learned that things have names. Two weeks is a short time to learn this much.
  • She has learned so much, I still can't believe she is knitting!
  • Captain Keller writes a letter to The Perkins Institute, and a girl named Annie Sullivan is sent to help Helen. Annie is getting off the train and is greeted by the Kellers, who left Helen at home. Annie has a doll for Helen, and this will be the first word that Annie will finger spell to Helen. Annie's goal was to teach Helen communication and that everything had a name. Annie will quickly learn that Helen is very smart and bright. Annie must unlocked the smarts inside of Helen.
  • She knows! Mrs. Keller! Mrs. Keller!
  • Wah Wah
  • Helen was walking around taking everything from everyone plates. When she comes to Annie's, Annie pushes her away. The Kellers just say "let her do it" , but Annie does not like this and wants to discipline Helen. Annie tells everyone to leave the room, so that she can be alone with Helen and have no one standing up for her. Captain Keller doesn't like this. In the end of all the drama Helen eats from her plate with a spoon, and folds her napkin. When Kate hears of this news she cries with joy.
  • After Helen folds her napkin, Kate is very proud of Annie. She also likes her more. Captain Keller still wanted Annie to leave, but Kate stood up for her, and she is staying. Annie is still not happy with what she has done though, because Helen still can't communicate. She asked Kate and Captain if she could take Helen to the garden house, and have complete control over Helen. Kate and Captain only say she gets two weeks. Annie gets help from Viney, and they furnish the house. Helen now feels like she is far from home since they drove her in circles on their way to the garden house. Percy also stays with them for help, and the training begins.
  • After the the weeks are up Helen is acting like a little lady. She was knitting and eating nice with her napkin in her shirt. When the Kellers take her back home, Helen begins testing them. The Kellers let her do whatever she is doing, but Annie doesn't like it. She tries to discipline Helen, who pitches a fit and dumps a pitcher of water out . So, Annie takes Helen to refill the pitcher at the pump. This is where the miracle happens. Annie spells water out to Helen, who remembers. She says "wah wah", and everything clicks. She goes around feeling everything wanting to know it's name. She understood what a name was and things had it. Annie screams for the Kellers, who rush out overjoyed. She had finally learned.
