  • In Thebes there was a King and a queen that had a baby boy, his name, Oedipus. There was a prophecy that Oedipus would kill his father. Of course his father got rid of him as far as possible from him.
  • Climax
  • The conflict of the story is man vs. fate. It was fate for Oedipus to kill his father.
  • Falling Action
  • After finding out he was adopted and heard the prophecy and killed his father, he confronted the sphinx and had to solve a riddle. He answered it right and instantly became the king of Thebes. He then marrys the queen and has kids with her, but a few years later Oedipus finds out that he was the one that killed his father and realises everything.
  • Resolution
  • After finding the queen hanged and knowing the truth, Oedipus gouges his eyes out, and is now a blind man.
  • Oedipus banishes himself from Thebes and takes his two daughters with him, he leaves his other 2 sons at Thebes to take charge. But his daughters soon die after a disease leaving Oedipus alone.
  • Oedipus has been roaming the earth as this blind poor man.
