  • Fate vs. Free Will - Act 2 -
  • But screw your courage to the sticking place and we'll not fail.
  • In act 2, Macbeth shows actions of free will which he chose to do.
  • Had he not resembled my father as he slept, I had done't... My husband?
  • I have done the deed. Didst thou not hear a noise?
  • This scene shows that Lady Macbeth is forceful and wants them to go through with the plan. Macbeth beforehand hoped that he would just get king without a stir.
  • Oh horror. horror, horror! Tounge nor heart cannot conceive nor name thee!
  • This action isn't fate, it is free will. Macbeth made a choice to go in to kill Duncun. This scene shows that Macbeth really did go through with Lady Macbeth's plan.
