  • Freddie Mercury was born Farrokh Bulsara; September 5, 1946 - November 24, 1991
  • attended English-style boarding schools in India from the age of eight and returned to Zanzibar after high school
  • Queen formed in 1970 with guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor. Mercury wrote numerous hits for Queen, including "Killer Queen"
  • he realized that he not only liked women and thus fell in love with a man
  • Mercury died in 1991 in 45 years due to complications from AIDS. In 1992, a tribute concert was held at Wembley Stadium.
