Storyboard Text

  • Once upon a time, a prince was lost in the forest when he happened upon a young maiden locked in a tower. The girl said she had been trapped there by a witch and had no means of escape.
  • The tower was 100ft tall, so the prince retrieved his great 100 foot ladder, but because of the crocodile-ridden moat, he had to stand 61.6ft away. When he leaned his ladder against the tower, it made a 52º angle with the ground. sin(52)•100=78.8. The ladder only reaches 78.8ft up the wall, so the prince cannot reach the girl.

  • The crocodiles were getting closer to the prince, and he was now 70ft away. The lady tried to toss a rope out for him to grab on to at an angle of 35º, but because 70/cos(35)=85, the rope was not long enough to reach the prince.

  • As a last resort, the prince called for his pet dragon. The dragon swept him up into the air , suddenly 64ft above the ground, but the prince wasn't scared. His heart fluttered, as he was a mere 66ft from the girl. sin-1(36/66)=33, so if the dragon could fly at a perfect angle of 33º, he would be able to save her.

  • So the prince rescued the fair maiden from her imprisonment, much to her joy. She returned home to his palace with him...
