Act 1, Scene 1: Flavius and murellus are upset over the fact that the commoners aren't at work and instead are celebrating caesar's return from war. They remove caesar's victory decorations, and they attempted to make the commoners go home, so that caesar would have less supporters.

Act One, Scene 2: There is a discussion of making caesar king. Cassius reveals that he feels that caesar is not as superior as himself, and he doesn't want to kneel before someone who is inferior. Cassius tries to persuade brutus that he is equal to caesar. The "Ides of March" is mentioned.
Act 1, Scene 3: Casca and cicero are on a street together in Rome, ad there is a thunderstorm. Casca describes the omen of lions on the streets and men in fire. Cassius persuades casca to help him kill caesar, ad they find out that caesar will be crowned king soon. Cinna is also a conspirator, and he plants false letters to brutus, in order for him to believe the letter and to join with their plot to kill caesar.
