Once upon a time, there lived a king named Minos. King Minos lived on an island called Crete. Now and then, King Minos sent his navy to the village of Athens. The king of Athens did not know what to do. The king of Athens offered King Minos a deal. If he would not attack Athens for 9 years, Athens would send 7 boys and 7 girls to Crete to be eaten by the monster that King Minos kept as a pet, the minotaur.
OH FOR ZEUS' SAKE!!!i died
Prince Theseus of Athens knew the importance of keeping yourword. He knew that a deal was a deal. But, he was also quite sure that it waswrong to send small children to be eaten by a monster. Prince Theseus told hisfather that he was going to Crete as the seventh son of Athens. He was going tokill the Minotaur and end the terror.
When Prince Theseus went to Crete, he met the Princess Ariadne. That night she sent him a letter saying that she will give him something to help kill the minotaur. They met by the cave and she bought with her some string and a sword.
That's it. Go to bed now.
The next day, Theseus and the Athenian children were shoved into the cave. Theseus tied the string to the door of the cave and proceeded into it. He killed the beast with the sword and followed the string back to the entrance.
After Theseus killed the terrifying minotaur, he followed the string back to the entrance of the cave where the children and Princess Ariadne were waiting for him. They all quickly escaped the island of Crete. Theseus and Ariadne fell in love, got married and lived happily ever after.
