I wake up and get ready for this big day. My eyes are barely open as I go through my morning routine and arrive at the small theater Portico's.
After arriving at Portico's I get ready for the matinee. Having my mic put on, makeup by Oni, vocal warm ups, and a stunt check. It takes me a long while to get everything done, and I am stressed as it is the first ever Ovations matinee.
We complete the matinee and are not that content about the outcome. After leaving for lunch, coming back, and going through the same routine Ms Kellen goes through the annual pre-final show circle. Some start crying, I do not.
At end of final show I start crying during bows the situation finally sinking in: this will be my last Ovations. I see my friend Alex crying beside me, a small solace that I am not alone.
I find myself outside with everyone else, crying and hugging and wiping tears away. We stay like that for at least 30 minutes, before we start to pack up and leave.
I am the last one to leave. I close the dressing room door with all of my belongings I had previously left at Portico's for the other shows, and say goodbye.
