  • Hi! I am a water droplet, and I am going to take you through each step of the water cycle.
  • The sun is heating up the water in the ocean and some of it will evaporate. Evaporation is when water changes from a liquid state to a gas called water vapor.
  • The water vapor can then rise up further into the atmosphere.
  • Next the water will condense into clouds. Condensation is when water changes from its gas form, water vapor, to its liquid form.
  • Precipitation is next. This is when the water falls from the sky as rain, snow, sleet, hail, or as another of many forms.
  • Some of the water will run off. Run off is water that stays above the surface and moves to the ocean through rivers and streams.
  • Some of the precipitation will infiltrate. Infiltration is when water penetrates through permeable surfaces (surfaces that it can go through) and may join water already below the surface called ground water.
  • Note: Water will evaporate from the rivers and streams as the water is moving towards the ocean as well.
  • Eventually, the water will end up back in the ocean and the proccess will start again.
  • Thanks for Reading!
