As Jesus left the house to sit by the lake, many people surrounded Jesus so he sat into a boat and told a parable to teach the crowd a valuable message. As the people stood on the shore he told them "the farmer went out to sow his seed" and continued to tell the parable.
A farmer went out to scatter his seeds, although some landed on the pathway. The seeds became nothing but food for the birds.
As he was walking some seeds then fell onto the stony ground, where the soil was not apparent. The seeds sprung up quickly although when the sun came out the plants were bare and no longer healthy and living.
He continued to walk but few seeds fell among the thorns, but as the plant matured it was eventually choked by the thorns and became non-existence.
Yet there were still few seeds that remained and fell onto the good ground. They grew and flourished healthy with unique beauty. The crops grew 10 times the amount of seeds that were sown.
As Jesus finished the parable he told the people "Whoever has ears, let them hear.” Jesus wanted to make sure the people knew that everyone will hear the word of the kingdom whether they interpret it well enough, to change the purity of their heart and extend themselves, would be their choice.
