  • What intellectual property is
  • Intellectual property is a work or invention to which one has rights.
  • The four main types of intellectual properties are: trade secret, trademark, copyright, and patents.
  • What the four types of intellectual properties mean.
  • -Trade secret: A secret device or technique used by a company in manufacturing its products.
  • -Trademark: A symbol or word/words that is legally registered or established by use as representing a company or product. 
  • What the properties means pt 2
  • -Copyright: Legal rights given to an originator to print, publish, perform, film, or record. It protects original work done by a person.
  • -Patent: A grant of protection for an invention/creation. Owning a patent gives you the right to stop someone from making, using me or my name, or selling your invention/creation without permission
  • Show examples of each property.
  • I am a patented creation. No one can make me or use my name for something else. 
  • On YouTube, you can get copyrighted it you re-upload a video from another creator and take credit for the video.
