  • France is Broke
  •  Meeting of the Estates
  • National Assembly
  • The French spent a lot of money on the French and Indian war and the American Revolution. They also didn't collect enough taxes and the nobles didn't have to pay taxes.
  • Reign of Terror #2
  • At the meeting of the estates Louis told how the meeting should go. He said it should go by the old rules that meant voting separately.  This meant that the third estate would be out numbered. The third estate didn't like that so they didn't go to the next meeting.
  • Napoleon #1
  • The Third estate after its rejecting to go to the estates meeting went to an indoor tennis court. That is where they declared themselves the National Assembly. On that day they sweared on the oath of the tennis court to write a constitution for France.
  • Napoleon #2
  • During the Reign of Terror more than 17,000 people were guillotined. Also, people were turning against each other including the radicals. Robespierre was found guilty and beheaded.
  • Napoleon was a young soldier. Napoleon made scientific studies of every battle he was in. He felt he knew more than the commanders.
  • Napoleon broke the power of the radicals in the revolution. He also brought many ideas to the revolution to the French government. In 1804 he named himself emperor.
