Storyboard Text

  • Freedom Rides for Rights
  • Let black people have the same rights whites do!!!!
  •
  • Both black and white people joined to fight for rights through bus rides through the city to promote black people rights
  • They filled the streets and protested for their rights, often using banners and posters
  • Then after getting on the bus, blacks sat at the front where the whites usually sat, and the whites sat at the back to give an act of defiance towards the authorities, and encourage less racial segregation
  • However, not everyone agreed with this protest. Many had instead argued against this movement, saying that whites were entitled to more rights than blacks were
  • Due to their strong opinion, these people would commonly beat up all freedom ride activists, regardless of their race
