When Isabel refused to do so, her mom told her that she would use an unconditional stimulus that would cause a response that's automatic. So, she put money on the table.
When Isabel saw the money on the table, she had the unconditional response of taking the money, which is a response that occurred from her mom putting the money on the table.
Once Isabel takes the money, the money acts as a conditioned stimulus that causes a response because Isabel learned to associate the money with completing her chores.
As time went on, Isabel's mom realized that her daughter would complete her chores before she went out with friends if she had an initiative.
From then on, Isabel's mom was sure to put money on the table so her daughter would complete her chores before she went out with her friends. This was a conditional response because Isabel learned that the completed chores = money to go out with friends.
