King Malcander heard of this tree and visited it. It was so beautiful that he commanded it to be cut down and made into a pillar in his palace. Meanwhile, Isis concieved a child, Horus, and to hide him she gave him to a goddess named Buto. After that, Isis looking for Osiris heard about how the casket floated near the tree, and the tree was cut down for the King Malcander. She asked if the king would give it to her, he agreed.
Set while hunting saw the coffin, he was so enraged that he tore it open, grabbed Osiris's body and ripped it into 14 pieces and through them back into the Nile for the crocodiles to eat the pieces.
Isis was assisted by Anubis, the god of the Underworld, and Nephthys, her sister to search for the pieces. She left Set because of his evil. They made their way down the Nile in a papyrus boat, and in reverence for the goddess the crocodiles avoided her and her husband's pieces. This made the crocodiles fear everyone in a papyrus boat because they thought it was Isis.
She could not recover one piece because it was eaten by a fish, so Isis cursed that fish, and that is why no Egyptians ate it. With magic she put together Osiris's body and made a synthetic 14th piece. She hid his body, and after this his spirit was free and it went to Amenti to watch over the dead and will return when Horus defeats Set.
But as Horus grew, the spirit of Osiris visited him often and taught him all that a great warrior would need to know, one who would fight Set and win. This conversation with Horus pleased Osiris a lot, and he knew it was time for Horus to declare war on Set.
A lion would indeed be the best for a man who needed help, but a horse is best for pursuing a flying foe and cutting him off from escape.
To avenge his father and mother for the evil done to them.
Tell me, what is the noblest thing that a man can do?
Surely a lion would be better still?
And what animal is most useful for the avenger to take with him as he goes out to battle?
Horus gathered his army, and even Re the father of the gods, came to his aid in his own divine boat that sails across the heavens and through the dangers of the underworld.
