Lennie dreams to take care of bunnies with George on a farm together. He hopes to live "off the fatta the lan" for the rest of his life and grow alfalfa for the rabbits.
Due to his dream, George told Lennie that if he got in any trouble he would not be allowed to tend to the rabbits at the farm. Not getting in trouble also included not speaking to Curley's wife.
