  • The  tax  on   Tea  and  Newspaper   was  placed  on  May  10th,  1773
  • UNFAIR!
  • Citizens  began  to  get  furious,  so  they  started  a  riot. 
  • NO  TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION
  • Patriot  leader  Samuel  Adams  organized  the  ''Tea  Party"  with  about  60  members  of  the  Sons  of  Liberty. 
  • Get  those  crates   over  there!
  •  On the night of December 16th 1773, The  Sons  of  Liberty  dumped 342 cases of tea into The Boston Harbor.
  • December  16  was  worth  more  than   $700,000  in  today’s  currency.
  • 
  • Due  to  the  Tea  Party, it  required British  troops  to  quarter   and  close  the  Boston  Port.
