Storyboard Text

  •  His fingers shook as he punched in his number on the inquiry board. “This is highly irregular, Brock 095670038,” the disembodied voice said. “What is your reason for external travel?“Scientific research,” he replied. He didn’t need to be told that his behavior was “irregular.” “I—I’ve been cleared by my podmaster and the Research Team. .”(1-2).
  • Expositon
  • Brock decides to leave the technology filled dome to go to the "infected atmosphere". He is nervous, the machine to keep the people safe is asking a lot of questions.
  • Brock is exploring and finds a dog he is at first skeptical the he begins to try to make friends the dog is very happy to see a human he is also hungry so Brock gives him a food pill.
  • Rising Action
  • "But obviously, dogs were not quite extinct. Cautiously, he moved toward the small one."(33)
  • Brock heads back to the dome with the dog he named him Brog. Once Brock enters he is asked questions about why Brog it there and what he brought. He is immediately sent to quarantine with Brog.
  • Conflict
  • "Canis familiaris is extinct.Well, maybe it’s just a robopet that got out somehow.Correction. Robopets are bloodless. Leave dry suit for sterilization and proceed to quarantine inspection.”(59-62).
  • Brock bites brog in the tail and draws blood, Brog bites Brock back in the nose. They do this because Brock and Brog both want to have a life outside the dome, they made it look like they had rabbis.
  • Climax
  • "We’ve made virtuals of her—a special series just for you to keep. You can virtually play with her whenever you like.That was the cue. Brock turned and bit Brog on the tail so hard that the blood started. Brog, surprised and enraged, spun around and bit Brock on the nose."(88-89).
  • After the rabbis accident all of the scientist were worried that it would spread, so Brock offered to take Brog no one asked if he was going to come back, Brock and Brog left and they weren't going to come back.
  • Falling Action
  • "All of the scientists fled the room. Someone ran to a computer terminal. When Brock offered to take Brog out of the dome and let her loose in the mountains, no one argued."(92).
  • Resolution 
  • Brock slowly took of his dry suit he could walk and run much more easier than before. They both went back to were they had originally met. Brock was excited and he knew it the water tasted good.
  • “And maybe, just maybe, where there are dogs, there are humans as well.”(99).
