APHG USDA PSA Project Slides 1-3
This storyboard does not have a description.
My name is Matt Talley. I am a farmer in America, which is a more developed country. I practice agriculture, which is the cultivation of crops and animals to produce resources for humans.
For example, agriculture in MDCs is commercial based. The food is not grown primarily for the farmer's family, but for selling, which also makes the agriculture a part of agribusiness, which is a farm involved with larger food industries. Farms have been mechanized to improve the productivity of the farm through machinery.
This is a mixed livestock and crop farm. The biggest essential for this type of agriculture is crop rotation. This means the farmer change crops to utilize different nutrients in the soil so the soil doesn't lose all of its nutrients. If soil does lose its nutrients, it is called desertification.
This is a dairy farm. The products of the farm are big for commercial agriculture. However, this farm is unique in that it doesn't sell products with GMOs to factories in its milkshed, or surrounding area. GMOs are genetically modified organisms that make easier, better crops. The modification of crops began during the green revolution.
