Storyboard Text

  • Hi! I'm Sally. I'm actually microscopic and function inside living things! Right now I'm inside of a human body. Currently I'm benign, meaning I'm just a normal, healthy cell.
  • We're carcinogens! There are many kinds of carcinogens- we're ultraviolet radiation. We're here to damage the DNA of Sally the cell because DNA is the building blocks of a living creature's genes and we want to cause damage!
  • Die and Continue Normal Cell Cycle
  • I'm feeling a little funny... I think those carcinogens caused a gene mutation! If this gene becomes an oncogene, I'm going to turn into a tumor cell!
  • Keep Going
  • Tumor Cells Only
  • Die and Continue Normal Cell Cycle
  • Uh oh, we're multiplying! I suppose that means we're tumor cells...
  • Keep Going
  • Tumor Cells Only
  • Because the cells are spreading uncontrollably and destroying tissue, they are considered malignant, or, cancerous, cells.
  • The End
  • We're going into the bloodstream to spread!
