Storyboard Text

  • Indirect Characterization
  • When Scrooges nephew, Fred, came to his counting house to invite him to Christmas dinner, Scrooge went on about how idle people should be sent to debt jail instead of enjoying the holidays. This indirectly characterizes Scrooge as cold-hearted.
  • "If they would rather die, they better do it, and decrease the surplus population."
  • Going through Scrooges childhood and revisiting the event where all his friends went home for Christmas while he was left at the school all alone, watching this makes him think of how he felt and it reveals his internal conflict with himself.
  • A Solitary child, neglected by his friends, is left there still.
  • Internal conflict
  • From watching how Scrooges previous boss had treated him so nicely it makes him rethink of how he should have been nicer and more considerate about Bob due to being in that same position years ago and how it felt which creates an internal conflict within scrooge about not being kinder.
  • I should like to be able to say a word or two to my clerk just now. that's all.
  • No more work tonight. Christmas eve, Dick. Christmas, Ebenezer!
  • Internal conflict
  • In the Crachit household they do not have much money but they have many things they are grateful for. When Bob says the blessing for the Christmas feast, through the words he speaks he portrays the theme of, The spirit of Christmas.
  • A merry Christmas to us all, my dears. God bless us!
  • Theme
  • Symbolism
  • From talking about the embellishments on the spirits robe Scrooge notices the boy and girl, he soon learns they symbolize how England swept away their problems like the boy and the girl where swept under his robe showing that if Scrooge continues to sweep away his problems and how he has behaving he will end up like Marley.
  • They are man's., And they cling to me, appealing from their fathers. The boy is ignorence. this girl is want, but most beware this boy, for on his brow i see that is written whihc is doom, unless the writing will be erased.
  • When scrooge first encounters the ghost of Christmas yet to come he asks him if it is really him, and all he does is point and never speaks. This symbolizes how the future cannot be spoken becasue it can be altered based on every choice we make. Showing Scrooge he can change what he is destined for if he decides to make good choices.
  • I am in the presence of the Ghost of Christmas yet to come? *The spirit answered not, but pointed onward with his hand*
