  • France is broke
  • The third estate left Estates-General
  • Lets get out of here!
  • The National Assembly is formed
  • We don't need them! We can make our own rules!
  • France was broke because of many reasons. One being that they spent to much money on wars. Also the nobility payed almost nothing in terms of taxes. Lastly, the reason that France was broke was because they collected to little in taxes.
  • storming of Bastille
  • The reason that the third estate broke off from the estates-general is because of the fact that they did not like the rules and wanted to change them. The third estate was now going by the new ideas of liberty and equality. 
  • Declaration of rights of man
  • The national assembly was formed because when the third estate refused to meet with the other estates they decided to make the National Assembly. One of the acts of the National Assembly was the Oath of the Tennis Court. This was a promise that they would write a constitution for France.
  • Louis XVI is beheaded
  • The storming of Bastille started when the people demanded that they have guns and other weapons. In confusion a battle broke out. In this battle the governor, officials, and soldiers were killed.
  • The Declaration of rights of man was a document that the assembly created stating that all people had the rights to freedom and equality. 
  • After attempting to flee from France the king Louis was beheaded. When he was trying to run from France he was caught at the German border. After returning to France he was convicted of treason and beheaded. Only about nine months later Marie-Antoinette was put to death.
