  • Huck running away
  • "Pap he hadn't been seen for more than a year, and that was comfortable for me; I didn't want to see him no more. He used to always whale me when he was sober and could get his hands on me; though I used to take to the woods most of the time when he was around." Pg.12
  • Seeing Jim for the first time on the island
  • "Doan' hurt me-don't! I hain't ever done no harm to a ghos'. I alwuz liked dead people, en done all I could for em." Pg. 43
  • Jim being bit by a rattlesnake

  • This is important because it is the start of Huck's journey. It's the start of a new begining for him and it shows that he is ready to move on.
  • This is important because it's the first time he has a real converstation with Jim and shows that he is about to start a long and fun journey with Jim.
  • This is important because it's the first time Huck is going to have to apologize to a black man. It is the start of Huck growing up. He is now agknowedging that African Americans have the same feelings and are people too.
  • Imagine this is a snake.
