Lindsay is 34 years old and has 2 children. She has a daughter named Emily who is 4 years old and a son named John who is 1 year old. Lindsay works part-time at Walmart and loves to cook. Emily loves princesses and John loves trains.
Lindsay's family lost a big portion of income after her and her husband divorced. Her husband refuses to pay child support. This led to the family being on SNAP and WIC.
The purpose of SNAP is to provide low income families with access to nutritious food. The program provides an electronic benefits transfer card that allows you to buy eligible food in authorized retail food stores. The requirements for SNAP differ with the family size. Since Lindsay has a family of 3, makes less than $40,840, and has less that $3,001 in her bank account, her family is eligible for SNAP.
SNAP has helped Lindsay feed her family and herself nutritious food. SNAP has prevented anyone in Lindsay's family to go hungry.
To improve their quality of life, Lindsay is trying to get a second job so they have more income. Lindsay hopes that her family won't be on SNAP much longer.
