Gatsby vs. George
Daisy vs. Herself
Gatsby has money and he really loves me
Tom has money, status, and power
Nick vs. Himself
After Daisy hit Myrtle with Gatsby's car, Gatsby takes the blame. Myrtle's husband George, is so angry at his wife's death that he goes to Gatsby's house and shoots and kills him. This goes with the theme of Corruption of the American Dream because now that Gatsby is dead he is no longer able to fulfill his dream of being with Daisy.
Daisy is very materialistic and she is caught in between two very wealthy men. She rather stay in an unhappy relationship with a wealthy and prestigious man to protect her status, than be with Gatsby. This shows how wealth and status are her priorities.
Nick is a pacifist who watches corrupt people with low morals cheat their way to the top. He is the only honest man who takes in all the aspects before doing something about the problem. For Example, he knows Jordan cheated in the golf tournament but won't do anything to fix it because he is to blindsided by her beauty and her charm.
