In 1215 the Nobles created the Magna Carta. The Nobles created this document because King John tried to take all the power for himself. The Nobles were trying to accomplish, a limit on the king's power, laws/punishments to be equal, due process, and property rights. The document did its job and created the nations Parliament.
In 1620 when the Pilgrims left England and failed to reach the Virginia colony, they created the Mayflower Compact. The Pilgrims created the compact because the people were in indepented territory and needed a government fast. The document created a self-government that the pilgrims would follow.
In 1689 the british Parliament created the English Bill of Rights. The Parliament wanted to expand the rights of the Parliament while limiting the King even more. The document did limit the power of the King greatly and affected the brithish civilians.
