  • Prior to the 1920s, women were expected to be modest and only do housework.
  • This is an unsatisfying lifestyle, I'm not a "second class" citizen!
  • The 19th Amendment was passed in 1920, giving women the right to vote.
  • They still aren't entirely equal to men, but now women have a little more freedom.
  • Flappers represented the "new woman", and women found work outside of the home as their sphere of influence changed.
