The exposition is a man is walking through the Yukon trail which was little traveled and dim, with his dog to meet up with someone
The rising action is when he is on his way over there he runs into a frozen creek and needs to cross it but doesn't know if the ice is thick enough. So he send his dog to go over it and it falls in but makes it to the other side.
The action keeps on rising when he tries to cross the frozen river and the ice breaks and he wets his feet and the water is freezing on his legs.
The climax is that he can't make a fire and he can't make the fire start so he tries to kill his dog to stick his hands inside him to keep them warm.
The falling action is when the man just ends up giving up hope because his body is to weak and he waits for death.
The resolution is that the dog leaves him and he dies.
