  • Then appointed an assembly to draft the Saint-Domingue Constitution and made it independent from France.
  • In 1801 Louverture took control of the entire island of Santo Domingo.
  • After that, Napolean Bonaparte sent troops to take over to Saint- Domingue to reestablish slavery.
  • Louverture held out against the french invasion for months.
  • Then, Louverture was captured by the French and died in 1803.
  • On January 1, 1804 Haiti declared its independence from France.
  • That includes all of the Haitian Revolution.
