  • Hola my people have dramatically changed since our civilization first developed.Let's head to Mayan societes to see what the mayan people today are like.
  • Today,there are said to be about 6million Mayan people which makes us about the largest group of indigenous peoples north peru along with Mexico.
  • Our tropical climate and fragile soils could have been detrimental to our civilization but we had remarkable cultural and architectural achievements.
  • The Mayans were able to keep most of their old ways of agriculture.They prepare their fields by cutting down trees and brush and then burning the dead vegetation in order to fertilized the land.Many households engaged in corn farming and would produce woven textiles to trade.
  • The Mayan civilization was never unified politically.This is because in the past decades,religions were subjected to intense political upheavel which led to a substantail loss of lifeland economic devestation.
  • Mayan people today follow many of the same traditions of the ones that we had decades ago
