Storyboard Text

  • This is Billy, he is a grade 5 student at Woodland Elementary School.  Billy has a reputation with the teachers as being a below average student who does not try hard on his assignments.
  • It is the second week in Ms. Bruce's Grade 5 class. She is presenting  the class with their first Social Studies assignment.  Billy is worried about how he is going to complete the assignment. 
  • How am I going to do this assignment? I've never been good at Social Studies. Maybe I just shouldn't do it, my teacher didn't seem to care last year.
  • During lunch Ms. Bruce runs into Billy's previous teacher Ms. Wright, she warns her about Billy's reputation.
  • Billy is a tough student, he does not try very hard and never completes his assignments.
  • Ms. Bruce disregarded the Ms. Wright's comment about Billy. She wants to start the new school year off right, and push Billy to work to his full potential. Ms. Bruce has a meeting with Billy to talk about the first Social Studies assignment. 
  • I don't know how to do it 
  • How do you feel about the first assignment? Is there anything I can help you with?
  • Ms. Bruce talks to Billy about creating a project that is geared towards his interests. She suggest that his assignment involves some type of art form to demonstrate his skills.
  • I really like art!
  • What are some of your interest? What do you like to do?
  •  Inline with Ms. Bruce's suggestion, Billy used his artistic abilities to draw pictures of his understanding of the assignment topic. 
  • Social Studies
  • I think i did well on this assignment. I really like my drawings.
