Storyboard Text

  • Many thriving and happy Native Americans were forced out of their land by the US Government to new a rechretd territory called Oklahoma.
  • During the removal process, many problemes occurred. Since the removal process started in November, many Native Americans died because of the harsh winter conditions.
  • When the Native Americans arrived in this new territory, much needed and promised supplies were not there.
  • Also Native Americans who were old and weak or were sick, were forced to move even though they wished to live out the rest of their days were their ancestors had.
  • Many things should have been done better during Indian Removal. For instance , Native Americans who were too weak to go should have stayed and the process should have started at the beginning of spring. This would make for a comfortable journey and they would arrive at the end of spring. Also necessary supplies should have been in the new territory like initially promised.
  • Years later, American leaders learned from this that it is wrong to try to remove a culture from another ethnicity.
